The Rising Sun Country Park is a 400 acre natural green oasis on the outskirts of Wallsend in North Tyneside which boasts an organic farm, nature reserve, countryside centre, numerous ponds, woodlands and extensive areas of grassland.
The Country Park which in bygone days was home to the Wallsend Collieries is also a wildlife haven that provides people with a refuge from the hustle and bustle of Wallsend Town centre.
The country park actively promotes healthy living and provides a resource for healthy outdoor activities, healthy food as well as encouraging sustainable practices and admission to the park is free and allocated free disabled parking spaces can be found beside the Countryside Visitor centre or you can park at the ASDA car park and enjoy the short walk down the lane.
Admission to the Centre is free and also car parking which is available within the grounds of the Countryside Centre
